FORT LAUDERDALE, NOVEMBER 17, 2022 —Community Police Relations Foundation (CPRF) was selected as an honoree for South Florida Business & Wealth’s 2022 Apogee Awards in recognition of Al Eskanazy, Chairman & CEO, for his professional achievements and community involvement over the past year. The honorees in each category were celebrated at a live awards ceremony last night (Wednesday, November 16th) at Gulfstream Park. The awards were presented by Akin Ayodele, former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Miami Dolphins, and Kim Sarni, Managing Director at Lifestyle Media Group.
Program paving way for officers to get mental health help: "To police well, you have to be well"

MIAMI – One South Florida program is paving the way to help law enforcement officers get the mental health help they need.
The Community Police Relations Foundation, paired with Boulder Crest, a non-profit for veterans, has been holding intensive mental health seminars at the South Florida PBA. The program, known as Struggle Well, has helped over 2,000 officers.

After being contacted by Major Ray Melcon (Miami-Dade Police Dept.) about an explosive detecting K9, Dargo, who was no longer fit for duty, the Community-Police Relations Foundation retired the dog to the Warrior Dog Foundation, where he will receive care for life. An earned retirement.

Retired Officer Linda Roberts, now Executive Director of the Police Athletic League of South Florida, reached the CPRF to bring the needs of a homeless graduating High School senior into view. With a 3.2 graduating index, the student aimed for college. The Community-Police Relations Foundation is proud to have provided scholarship and continuing mentorship to the extraordinary young man.
