(WOLF) — For law enforcement, handling traumatic situations is part of the job and part of the daily duties.
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, developing behavioral health conditions happen to 30%of first responders.
FOX56 spoke to a first responder mental health expert on how mental health is just as good as physical health for law enforcement.
"You have law enforcement officers who go out day and night, over and over again, to all sorts of circumstances that are typically very threatening and would be threatening to any ordinary citizen. They do this as a matter of their job, to serve and protect regardless of the circumstances,” said to First Responder Mental Health Expert, Al Eskanazy.
