Patrick Montoya, Esq

General Counsel

PATRICK S. MONTOYA graduated from Davidson College in Davidson, NC, where he majored in Political Science with a concentration in Ethnic Studies and lettered for four years in football. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Mr. Montoya was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship and spent a year teaching and studying dance and martial arts in Brazil and Spain.

Mr. Montoya then went on to receive his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and graduated cum laude. He was a member of the Inter American Law Review and the University of Miami Moot Court Board. He currently serves on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida's Ad Hoc Committee on Rules and Procedures.

Mr. Montoya has multiple multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Mr. Montoya's practice areas include class action, commercial litigation, products liability and general personal injury litigation. He served as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law in the Legal Research and Writing Program. He is also a member of the Dade County Bar Association, Young Lawyer's Section; the American Association for Justice; and the Caribbean Bar Association.

Mr. Montoya is a member of the Executive Committee for the National Conference of Community and Justice (NCCJ), Greater Miami Region. He was recently awarded the "Donor Next Door" Award from the Dade Community Foundation for his volunteerism with the NCCJ and hosts the television program, "NCCJ: Your Community and You."

Mr. Montoya teaches and lectures widely on a variety of topics to attorneys and paralegals.
